UX Writing

It all started with a sudden, surprise meeting...

during which a bombshell was dropped: we needed to start charging our subscribers sales tax. Problem was, we didn't have billing addresses for a large number of them. Without this information, we couldn't accurately assess their tax burden, and their subscription would be automatically shut off.

😳

SO...the mandate was to create attention grabbing but not panicked copy to encourage subscribers to update their billing information.

This push notification, alongside an email campaign, ultimately saw 90% adherence by the deadline.

About that 10% who didn't update their information...

their accounts were locked. For these select few, I created messaging that concisely explained the problem and how to regain access.

Ultimately, over 60% of them did.

But UX doesn't have to be life or death.

Sometimes it's just about reengaging listeners with reminders that their favorite shows are back!
